The complete listing of vegan (meat-free, dairy-free, egg-free) recipes by category. Updated April 1, 2008 to include Healthy Baked Eggplant.
All the of the following recipes are free from eggs, dairy products, meat, fowl, fish, and other animal by-products such as honey if prepared according to the applicable vegan directions. For example, if cheese is listed as (optional), for a vegan dish do not include cheese.
The following ingredients are not considered vegan:
- Eggs (from any animal)
- Milk, cheese, yogurt, other dairy products (from any animal)
- Gelatin
- Fish and fish by-products (such as fish sauce, bonito flakes, shrimp paste)
- Animal-based broths or stocks (such as chicken bouillon)
- Honey (may be acceptable to some vegans)
- Confections such as red glaze (made from crushed beetles)
